Aarvi is developing distributed biomass-to-biochar projects that can create a new revenue stream from clean agricultural residues while supporting rural value creation — anchored on the operating infrastructure we already run today.

The pathway

Biomass → Biochar → Verified Carbon Removal.

Through controlled pyrolysis, suitable biomass can be converted into a stable, carbon-rich material. The project then needs rigorous measurement, reporting, verification and an appropriate carbon-credit pathway to unlock the carbon-removal revenue stream.

Priority feedstocks

Start with residues we can already source at scale.

The 68,000 MT / season already flowing through our Chittapur cluster is the operational base for the first biochar projects.

Feedstock A

Cotton stalk

Large agricultural residue stream in parts of Karnataka and Maharashtra. Currently 20,000 MT / season in our reference cluster.

Feedstock B

Tuvar (Redgram)

The dominant residue in our Kalaburagi cluster — 30,000 MT / season. Requires seasonal aggregation planning.

Feedstock C

Soya husk

Concentrated, lower-logistics feedstock pathway. 8,000 MT / season currently — expansion candidates in Maharashtra.

Feedstock D

Juliflora

Woody biomass, 10,000 MT / season. Year-round availability with lower moisture variability — suitable for higher-grade biochar.

Additional pulse and cereal residues (groundnut shell, sugarcane trash, jowar) are evaluated cluster-by-cluster.
